Our Ministries

Children's Church

The children of Living Hope are one of our greatest blessings, one of our greatest responsibilities, and one of our greatest hopes for the future of God's plan for us.  The children worship with us during our prayers and songs on Sunday mornings.  Then during the sermon, we welcome parents to send their children ages 3-8 years old to a time of children's church where they will be taught the great story of God's Son as told through the many stories in God's Word by caring church members.  If parents prefer to keep their children ages 3-8 during the sermon, we encourage them to read Worship guidelines for kids.   Contact children's church coordinator Shannon Beier at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Dinner Discussions

We value a community that grows together, supporting one another in love as we study, discuss, and apply God's word to our lives.  We also value eating together, for obvious reasons (and because it's such a great picture and exercise in God's kingdom, where table fellowship is part of family life).
Most Sunday and Thursday nights we meet in someone's home for a dinner or dessert and a time of discussing a rotating variety of topics:  Sometimes we discuss and further apply the sermon from that week; other times we embark on a short series from the Scriptures; other times we pick a relevant or challenging topic that the church is facing to discuss together.  Once a month, we take a Sunday night to focus on leadership training, which is often open to everyone.

City Seminary

City Seminary exists to provide solid, yet affordable, biblical training to equip servants of Jesus Christ to effectively and practically minister the gospel in today's urban, pluralistic, and globalized culture. We began in 2006 as the Chicago site of the national LAMP Seminary program for those who are called to ministry, but who find the traditional seminary route impractical.

Adult students have competing priorities between work, family and church.  LAMP is a training program that provides standardized and complete training to equip candidates with practical life application & theological education at an affordable price. LAMP opens doors for servant leaders from a wide variety of economic and ethnic backgrounds to pursue an education.

Students attend a three hour per week interactive class led by pastors and visiting lecturers and complete much work outside of the classroom.  Currently, there are 18 LAMP learning sites across the nation with over 135 students enrolled in the program.
